I am appointed to the director of the National Institute on Consumer Education. I would like to continue to carry out the activities that have been vigorously continued up to now, together with everyone.

This center marks the 30th anniversary of its establishment this year. When it was established as a co-organization of the Economic Planning Agency and the Ministry of Education, and for the next 30 years, it has contributed to the development of consumer education in Japan through various activities in schools and communities.

In recent years, the Consumer Affairs Agency was established in 2009, and the law on the promotion of consumer education was enacted in 2012, which has led to an increase in outsourced business for consumer education in local governments. We continue to build a good relationship with local government or those involved through consumer education.

We will continue to play a role as a specialized institution for consumer education in order to achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). I appreciate your continuous guidance and cooperation.
